Protoje Announces UK Tour 2024

12/15/2023 by Press Release

Academy Events announce that internationally adored Roots Reggae revivalist Protoje will make a much anticipated return to the UK with his band The Indiggnation next Spring for a four date tour, taking in O2 Ritz Manchester on 28th March, O2 Academy Bristol on 29th March, O2 Institute Birmingham on 30th March, with the grand finale at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on 31st March.

The Jamaican roots reggae visionary artist Protoje has been touring Europe this autumn and is excited to meet his scores of UK fans and promises an unforgettable night - a journey through traditional roots reggae to his modern creative take on one drops, steppaz, boom bap and one-two, as he drops incendiary live performances of his most loved tunes across his catalogue of seven albums, including much loved reggae anthem Who Knows.

Protoje blends hip hop, soul and jazz with his native sounds of reggae and dancehall. The musical prodigy gained mainstream attention for addictive melodies and conscious lyrics as part of the ‘reggae revival’ movement. Protoje first achieved independent success in 2011 with his debut album ‘The Seven Year Itch’ and track ‘Rasta Love’ featuring Ky-Mani Marley. When he broke through in 2015 with smash ‘Who Knows’ featuring Chronixx, publications such as Vogue, i-D, Rolling Stone and The Fader hailed him one of the brightest talents out of Jamaica. Subsequent hits elevated Protoje’s status across album releases ‘A Matter Of Time’ (2018), ‘In Search Of Lost Time’ (2020) and ‘Third Time’s The Charm’ (2022). Protoje has collaborated with Jorja Smith, Alicia Keys, Wiz Khalifa, Pa Salieu, Popcaan and Koffee, toured with Lauryn Hill and played at international festivals, including Coachella and Glastonbury. In 2018, Protoje founded his own label and management company Indiggnation Collective. He released his last album ‘In Search Of Zion’ in November 2023 via RCA Records, a remix album created with production collective Zion I Kings that reimagined 2020’s album ‘In Search Of Lost Time’.

Protoje said “I love the UK and British fans are my people, they always follow me and come to my shows every time I come back. Come see me, a Protoje show is not just any stage show. I’m looking forward to seeing you all, soon come.
