First the good news: Vybz Kartel's tune Summer Time has been nominated for the Soul Train Awards 2011 in the category Best Caribbean Performance. Also nominated are Mavado (Delilah), Machel Montano, Kes The Band & Rihanna. The Awards will be held on November 17th in Atlanta.

Now the bad news for Vybz Kartel, who is still in jail. Kartel has been charged for a second murder:

RESIDENT Magistrate Opal Smith, today rejected a bail application filed by attorneys representing caged deejay Vybz Kartel. The magistrate did not immediately give her reason for refusing bail but said she would do so in 24 hours.

Jamaica Observer: Another Murder Charge For Kartel [10/24]

Detectives from the Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two persons for the murder of Clive Williams o/c ‘Lizard’ who was murdered on August 16, 2011 in Havendale, St Andrew. The persons charged are Adijah Palmer o/c ‘Vybz Kartel’ and Kiro Jones o/c ‘Ray Jones’. Palmer and Jones were charged this evening. […] Kartel is already in jail on murder, conspiracy to murder, and illegal possession of a firearm charges.[…]
