David Rodigan Collects MBE from Prince Charles

British radio jockey and selector David Rodigan has been honoured with the MBE award from the Queen of England for his contribution to broadcasting.

As announced on Queen Elizabeth II’s New Years Honours list, Rodigan will receive he MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire).

In an interview with the Jamaica Gleaner (January 5th 2012), Rodigan described:
"I was asleep in a Berlin hotel room on Saturday morning, having performed at an all-night reggae jam at the Yaam Club, when my phone just went crazy, buzzing with text messages and then my wife called me from London to tell me that it had been announced on the BBC that I had been awarded an MBE."

The ceremony took place on tuesday (February 14th) at Buckingham Palace in London. David Rodigan received his MBE from Prince Charles.


The MBE is an order of chivalry established on 4 June 1917 by George V.
