Damian Marley talks Stony Hill with David Rodigan

David Rodigan was in Jamaica recently with BBC 1Xtra and met Damian Marley at legendary Tuff Gong Studio to talk about the upcoming album Stony Hill:

I'm in the inner sanctum. This is Tuff Gong! I’m with Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley for the most eagerly anticipated new album in years. We can’t tell you how much we are waiting to hear the Stony Hill album.

Junior Gong talks about the known songs Caution, Nail Pon Cross, Everybody Wants To Be Somebody and Roar Fi A Cause, but also reveals details about new songs: Here I Come Again, Medication (feat. Stephen Marley), Time Travel and Livin’ It Up.

That song [Everybody Wants To Be Somebody] is a good indicator for a few more songs to come from the album, that perhaps you are not familiar with yet. That kinda reflects a bit more of me trying to do a bit more singing, than I usually would. And also going a bit more into Roots, like real acoustic Roots music.

Rodigan closes the interview with the question about the release date of Stony Hill: „Sometime this summer?“
Damian Marley: „Yes… early summer! We are looking for like April/May. I don’t have a direct date as yet, but we are looking for April/May at this point in time
