Inezi

Inezi lives and breathes music. Influenced at an early age by his father who was also a singer and growing up every day listening to local Spanish Town sound system Cooper Tone, Inezi quickly developed his voice and passion for music. While attending Dinthill Technical High School, he continued to unearth his singing and writing talents eventually forming the group H5. The talented singing group went on to place in the top 5 contestants as part of Jamaica’s Digicel Rising Stars competition in 2004. Following the group’s name change to Konscious, they entered the 2017 Magnum Kings and Queens competition in Jamaica garnering them the attention of Olympic Champion, Asafa Powell who signed them to a management deal.

In 2009, Konscious released a moderately successful single, Trod It before they broke up a few years later. Inezi remained committed to his craft as a solo artist regardless and continued to perform at live events across Jamaica to appear on 1Xtra at Big Yard studios. Consistent and dedicated to the growth of his innate musical abilities, Inezi constantly writes lyrics, records songs and trains his vocals. His socially conscious music leaves a lasting impression hearing it for the time. Before the release of his April 22, 2022 release of Pain and Pleasure EP, Inezi was known for impactful singles, Straight Away (New Vision One Records) Roots and Culture and No Love (Teflon Zincfence).

Inezi’s journey remained challenging, but the Spanish Town bred singer channeled his truth, disappointments, pain and raw emotions through his music. Throughout 2020 and 2021 he connected with Addis Records out of Austria and created newer singles, Rise, Sorry Fah and African Proverbs which caught the attention of BBC1xtra David Rodigan. On his review show, social media influencer and Dancehall DJ Foota Hype impressed his thousands of fans playing Inezi’s music during his live feed. All 3 tracks produced by Switzerland-based reggae label, Addis Records gained more attention from music fans and industry peers with DJs and radio stations adding them to their rotation.

Late 2021 – 2022 Inezi met Global Beats Studio C.E.O., Huey Gowdie and signed a major management deal. The label recorded and officially released its first project April 22, 2022 to rave reviews. The six (6) track EP, Pain and Pleasure takes a step away from Inezi’s socially conscious side to a more personal, softer side. Tracks such as Scatter Me, Refuse to Be You, Blame Me, On It, Fine Wine and Higher were meant to officially introduce music fans to the side of Inezi the public does not know, his personal side and, prepares them for his sophomore album to come.

Broadcaster David Rodigan endorsed the artiste’s latest EP calling it “first class!” Other broadcasters such as Daddy English (Reggae in the City PPodcast), Lenora Stedford (LUV Radio, UK), DJ Wiz (Vibe 105.5 FM in Toronto), Nikki Z (The Bridge 99 FM, Jamaica) and, Ramona Samuels (Riddim 102 – 9 FM, Jamaica) have also praised the project. Pain and Pleasure EP was created in the midst of the global pandemic and substantiated Inezi’s popularity in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya is a combination of classic 90s dancehall vibes to heartfelt ballads, showcasing this soft-spoken, talented and seasoned singer Horatio ‘Inezi’ Flowers.
